Dear: Diary
Journal 1
Sometimes I wish my husband can acknowledge my being here for him. I love Iago but he does not respect me or my love I have for him. My husband has been asking me to retrieve Desdemona’s handkerchief for him. I do not know why he requires the handkerchief but maybe it will be of good use for the both of us. I only had my chance to seal Desdemona handkerchief now I will make my husband the happiest person in the world. I thought if I stole Desdemona handkerchief for my husband he would treat me with more respect, love, affection, and appreciation. Maybe our marriage will more equal. I love my husband but at times I wish he could treat me with respect, love and compassion.
Journal 2
My loyalties are with my husband. He asks for something of me and I will deliver on to him. Maybe giving Iago our love will blossom in something beautiful.

Essay on Much Ado about Nothing

Since centuries ago women have always been consider weak and emotional. Society were supposed to be obedient to their father and after that to their husbands, but always submitted to the wills of males around them. Beatrice is the play's witty heroine. Beatrice is a prime example of one of Shakespeare's strong female characters. She refuses to marry because she has not discovered the perfect, equal partner and because she is unwilling to eschew her liberty and submit to the will of a controlling husband. When Hero has been humiliated and accused of violating her chastity, Beatrice explodes with fury at Claudio for mistreating her cousin.
In her frustration and rage about Hero's mistreatment, Beatrice rebels against the unequal status of women in Renaissance society. According to Shakespeare Beatrice stated, “O that I was a man for his sake! Or that I had any friend would be a man for my sake, I cannot be a man with wishing, therefore I will die a woman with grieving" (IV.i.314-320). Beatrice has a quick tongue and a sharp wit. She is never at a loss for snappy come-backs, spiced with truth, which she shuttles back and forth in verbal words.
Beatrice is presented to us as a woman who fights against social impositions. Possessed of such artillery, she is not intimidated by the authority of the Governor or the status of the Prince. She charms, captivates and stimulates. She was a very independent person, and didn't want to rely on anyone for support. She also was very smart.
Another characteristic of Beatrice was that she was very emotional. Beatrice is really vulnerable. She often changed her mood all of a sudden for no apparent reason. Also, Beatrice kept many of her feelings inside her. Sometimes she would be angry but wouldn't show it, because she always had to feel strong, and look like she didn't need anyone. Beatrice is an intelligent woman, a woman who does not follow social conventions and is able to interact with men as an equal expressing her own opinions. She is presented as a woman who men cannot control. At the beginning of the play Beatrice positions herself against marriage because she does not want to form part of the mount of arranged marriages without love that filled society at her time. She refuses to marry because she has not found her true love, the perfect man that loves her for what she is and not for her money or social position. She is a woman character that rebels against women position in the patriarchal society and claims for an equal status of sexes.
If Beatrice was to ever become a man. She would be a very aggressive man. She was already aggressive and resistant when she was a female. Her out view on men, she feels men can get away with anything. They mistreat females whenever they want. She will defend her believes to the end if she has to. She will slather Claudio for what he did to her cousin and any other men who gets in her way. Beatrice becoming a man means trouble because she feels men are consider very dominated, persuasive and aggressive. She would have to fight for her honor every day.
For years now women have been the back bones for men. The only problem is they still don’t realize how women are important to the society. I can feel the anger and rage that Beatrice is going through. I would love to see Beatrice as a man and in what ways would she go about trying to accomplish the unfairness of women.

Othello, Shakespeare
Iago is a very selfish person. Iago only see his self in his eyes. He considers women to be very talkative. He feels he should be in power and control everything and everyone. He has no respect or morals. . Iago is a man who hates women, for he shows no love or sympathy to women as he constantly slanders them of things they didn’t do or even think about. Iago’s murder of Emilia could also stem from the general hatred of women that he displays. He certainly seems to take great pleasure in preventing Othello from enjoying marital happiness, and he expresses his love for Othello frequently and effusively. It is Iago’s talent for understanding and manipulating the desires of those around him that makes him both a powerful and a compelling figure
Iago’s opinion on women is that he detests women in all kinds and shapes, and finds faults even when they have little or no faults. Further on Iago comes to Brabantio’s house and says to him that his daughter has been stolen, rather than saying she ran away with Othello. He thinks of women property of men. In act 1 scene 1 line 80 Iago states,” Thieves, thieves! Look to your house, your daughter and your bags”. He implies that women (generalizing) talk more than they should, and that they don’t know when to stop. They are very lazy when it comes to housework however when it comes to their needs (desires sexually) they are not lazy. The main reason why Iago’s attitude towards women is not the best is due to the fact that women have no strong morals and that they are easily persuaded by other men, this is when he sees Casio kiss his wife. He also think that the women are untrustworthy and they do whatever they have to do even if it means to hurt ones feeling. He also believes women talk useless maters.Based on Iago’s behavior and attitude he thinks that women are of lower class to men. He sees them as sexually active creatures, and untrustworthy to their husbands, and that they don’t have feelings about anyone else except them selves.
According to Iago women are good when they are outside of their homes but once they enter the home they are worse than devils, Iago’s sneering attitude towards his wife and women in general is indicated once again. His use of the word ‘picture’ which denotes that out of doors the women are silent and pleasant to look at. He states,” Come on, Come on: you are pictures out of doors, bells in your parlors, wild cats in your kitchens, saints in your injuries, devils being offended, players in your housewifery, and house wife’s in your beds". In addition to the statement Iago stated we come to know that women act like saints even when they injure others. He also Says, ‘They are lazy around the house except that they are active in their bed’, suggesting that they are like prostitutes.
Further on He refers Desdemona as a guinea hen, which denotes a whore. Iago gives a description of his wife to Cassio who just had given her a greeting kiss to Emilia. He describes Emilia as a talkative person that she can’t keep there trap shut. He implies that all women have to open their mouth for everything. Iago states that I n Act 1 Scene 1. “Sir, would she give you so much of her lips, as of her tongue she oft bestows on me you’d have enough”.
Iago felt any man who was in love with any women was a fool. Iago tells Roderigo that he shouldn’t be an inane man to even think of taking his life for a female. Iago stated, “Ere I would say I would drown myself for the love of a guinea hen; I would change my humanity with a baboon”. Act 1 Scene 3 Line 310. Again this reveals to us that Iago says that he would never drown himself for a female, he rather change his humanity with a monkey which is totally degrading because he sees a monkey more fit than women. Iago felt that no man who chase after a female. He felt Othello was weak because he had lust and love for Desdemona.
